Course Overview
A. Introduction
This course deals ecological framework of sustainable development; pollution environments: water, air and solid; waste treatment processes, disposal, and management; government legislation, rules, and regulation related to the environment and waste management; and environmental management system.
B. Course Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, you should be able to:
1. Understand various effects of environmental pollution.
2. Know the existing laws, rules, and regulations of the government on environmental issues.
3. Identify, plan, and select appropriate design treatment schemes for waste disposal.
4. Understand the importance of waste management and its relevance to the engineering profession.

To ensure the accomplishment of the learning outcomes, you need to master the following topics in this course:
Module 1: Ecological Concepts and Pollution Environments
This part will introduce you to environmental engineering, ecosystems, and pollution environments.
Module 2: Existing laws, rules, and regulations of the government on environmental issues
This module will provide you with the current and existing government laws and its implementing rules and regulations regarding environment and environmental issues.
Module 3: Toxic and Hazardous Waste Treatment
This module will introduce to different ways to treat toxic and hazardous waste.
Module 4: Environmental Management System
This module will give you background with the content and purpose of environmental impact assessment and environmental compliance certificate.
