CLO1. Define the importance of various team members’ roles and cite examples of team behaviors that are helpful in the implementation of the fieldwork exercise.
The CLO1 was comprised of this major topic:
Module 1: Introduction to Surveying Laboratory
This module provides strong foundation in conducting surveys which include task designation, conventional survey equipment, arm and hand signals, and survey field notes and reports which helps the students to do laboratory activities with ease. This module also includes Corrections in Taping.
Examples of team behaviors that are helpful in the implementation of the exercise was stated above.
It is evident in this topic that I Define the importance of various team members’ roles and cite examples of team behaviors that are helpful in the implementation of the fieldwork exercise. As it is one of the middle topics, I find myself engaged based on the reflective learnings that I had in this topic.

In this module, I realize that surveying can be fully done if there are already surveying field notes. This pertains to the record of work done in the field. They consist of lengths, angles, areas, sketches, descriptions, and other data. They may be taken by hand, or can be computer-generated.
I also learned about the field survey party, each one has their own roles to offer. What I can remember about is the Chief of Party that pertains to the person who is responsible for the overall direction, supervision, and operational control of the survey party. He is also responsible for its logistical and technical requirements, and problems of a field survey operation. Another thing is Head Tapeman. This pertains to the person responsible for the accuracy and speed of all linear measurements with tape. He determines and directs the marking of stations to be occupied by the surveying instruments and directs the clearing out of obstructions along the line of sight.
Overall, I realized that teams are important because they can accomplish much more than any of the members could achieve individually. The team that functions effectively and efficiently brings together a diverse range of characters, skills, and talents, and is able to realize large, complex projects.
Additional topic that is discussed in module 1 would be the different arm and hand positions in surveying. Here is our group work.
