Dear families,
It's been a wonderful week back after Semana Blanca. Students arrived energetic and ready to reconnect with friends and teachers and dive back into learning. We also held a student led Lower School assembly this week where we celebrated our amazing substitute teachers, learned about Lunar New Year and Ramadan, and recognized our OPAL star cleaners along with students who demonstrated empathy and perseverance during January and February.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ms. Dani
Smartick
As a reminder, Smartick is a digital resource that is available to our community at no additional cost. It is a great tool for students to practice and improve in their math skills. If you are interested in using Smartick at home with your students, fill out this form. To receive the full benefits of Smartick, it is recommended that students use it for 15 minutes a day at least 3 days a week. Student accounts that have been inactive for 20 days or more will be deactivated.
SIGN UP FOR OUR SUMMER CAMP IN ENGLISH
This year’s Summer Camp will run from July 1-31.
Our camp aims to immerse children in the English language in a playful, fun, and informal way through a full immersion camp-style approach that integrates the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Campers will learn English through educational games and hands-on projects and will also get to enjoy plenty of structured time outdoors each day. Many of our students have an intermediate or advanced level of English, therefore, our camp is also a wonderful option for proficient English speakers.
Monthly Character Strength: Responsibility
For the month of March, our character strength focus is responsibility—the ability to be dependable, make thoughtful choices, and take ownership of our actions. We’ll be highlighting responsibility in our classrooms and looking for opportunities to celebrate students who come prepared, follow through on commitments, care for shared spaces, and take responsibility for their learning and behavior. Students who demonstrate this strength will have their names entered into a drawing at our next assembly for a chance to have lunch with Ms. Dani. We invite families to talk with their children at home about how they can show responsibility in everyday moments.
