September 1st- Twitter Basics

Joe Sanfelippo very eloquently spoke about how social media is a reality in our schools. We need to tell OUR story so others don't tell it for us. Although inspired, you may be left wondering how to use #WeAreASD to show all the positive things happening in our schools. (When posting, please be mindful of the guidelines Mandy sent out). September 12th- Global Read Aloud

That's right! It is almost Global Read Aloud time again. For the next two weeks, you can get signed up, read up, and organize to prepare for the 6 weeks of global reading and collaboration. What is it? For those of you who didn't participate last year, certain books (this year's picture books are chosen to focus on voice and culture of indigenous writers) are chosen over a 6 week period and schools from all over the world read the same books, which opens up worlds of possibilities for collaboration and conversations around perspective and understanding. If you did participate last year, this year is your year to level up your game and try something new and do more with GRA. The literacy specialists, Dawn and myself are here to help to give you ideas for meaningful, authentic experiences with this year's literature as well as help making those global connections. September 19th- Facebook Teacher Groups

Do you find yourself binge-watching TV at night while multitasking on your laptop? Perhaps you get sidetracked from your school work to scroll through Facebook. If that is the case, now you can do BOTH your school work AND Facebook at the same time!! Kasey Bell from Shake Up Learning has created a list of the best Facebook sites for educators. I find myself scrolling through the Seesaw pages and the Breakout pages most frequently, but there is SO MUCH MORE out there! Enjoy!

September 24th- STAR Targeted Lessons
