I chose Animas High School because I thought I would be a better fit for me. Coming from a small middle school with a similar learning plan (Mountain Middle School) it looked like a better choice. I also thought that I would get better 1 on 1 learning and less people/a smaller school. At first I wanted to go to DHS because my friends all went there, but after thinking about the priority of the learning environment AHS seemed like a better fit. The environment and layout of the school also seemed more welcoming and organized which is something that I looked for while touring different schools. While at animas I hope to go out of my comfort zone more, and at animas I think I will be able to do that by doing more public speaking. I do tend to stay quiet and gravitate towards the back of the group, but one of the goals I hope to accomplish is stepping outside of that space. To me education means growing your knowledge, learning new things, and gaining skills. During high school I am looking forward to getting more opportunities, learning new things both educationally and about myself as well as being able to think about my future more. After high school I hope to attend college, but I don't know exactly what career I want to pursue. I do think that while at Animas I will learn more about myself and my interests and be able to think more about paths I want to take.
One thing that I enjoy doing is outside of school activties. This photo is of my 4-H rabbit and the awards from the fair that we won. I stopped doing 4-H and committed my outside of school activities to Girl Scouts which I have been doing since 6th grade.
I really like traveling with my family and friends. This photo I took from the plane on our way to the Bahamas. I travel a lot and a few more of the places I have been recently are: Mexico, London, Florida, all around the 4 corners, Lake Powell, and San Diego every year.
My pets are some of my favorite things. I enjoy spending time with them, like my dogs Mini and Holly. I also have many other pets like a tortoise, 3 gerbils, fish, a salamander, and a rabbit.
I enjoy listening to music and going to events. This photo is from a concert that I went to in Las Vegas. I also go to a lot of sports games with my family like NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and other events like festivals etc.

This semester I think that I have shown up the most as an explorer. I think that I have been able to think creatively and independently a lot getting my work done and focusing on my work and priorities. I think I have taken risks this year like during osprey block I was able to go outside of my comfort zone and participate in the available activities with an open mind with new peers. I also have been involved in my learning a lot this semester and have actually been trying to take in the information being delivered to me. Lastly I also have been finding meaning in challenges and embracing hard work. I notice this in art a lot because I have tried new things and to me art shows when you are struggling, so I have embraced these challenges and hard work and looked for improvement while trying new things.
