In this class we learn the next level of Spanish. We do this by listening to songs, playing games, participating in story telling, learning grammar, new vocabulary and more. I plan to complete Spanish through Spanish 4 and hopefully get my certificate of biliteracy at the end of senior year.
Course description & reflection:
So far in spanish two we have learned about Bolivian culture, read a novel, talked about runtines, read stories, listened to songs, created projects, played games, learned about food and cooking, and more. The way I have grown is I think I am a lot better at translation and conjugations. I am most proud of the way I have expanded my spanish speaking and writing skills, specifically the growth I have noticed from last year. I would still like to grow with the alphabet, adding accents and speaking more fluently with less mistakes in spelling and pronunciation. My language goals for the future are to be able to write and speak in spanish fluently and with minimal mistakes to the point where I can understand and communicate with others.
This project focused on describing my daily routines in Spanish, as well as giving others a look into my hometown, Durango. I practiced using new vocabulary and sentence structures to talk about what I do in a day during the school week, including my schedule, habits, and activities. I also created a video presentation/video slideshow to share what makes Durango unique and what a day in my life is like. Through this process, I learned how to communicate more confidently in Spanish and use reflexive verbs to talk about my routines. (if the video won't play here is the link: LINK)
To the left is my final presentation with the voice over in spanish. My script is also to the left which is what we used to do the voice over. Below in the drop down is my project refection.
I am proud of how I was able to use spanish successfully fully throughout the project with minimal mistakes and I noticed I wasn't struggling as much as previous similar projects. Challenges that I faced were some parts of the script template where hard to understand due to it being in spanish when we were personalizing it as well as reading the script for the recording. I grew through using spanish in new ways and applying new words we have learned through the project speaking element and writing the script. A goal/challenge I still want to face is getting better at pronunciation when reading something like this script. Overall I am happy with the way my video/presentation turned out and am happy with my script.
