Initially an enquiry into subcultures and individual expression, my work became largely influenced by the current social climate. Lockdown has restricted our physical contact with other people, challenging us to resort to creative ways of filling that gap. In a similar way, I was faced with a lack of people to photograph and responded by creating figures that might represent the universal feeling of loss and loneliness we have been confronted with.
