The purpose of my artwork is to observe figures in a solitary environment. Whether their surroundings consist of modern design or derelict space, the figures often morph themselves into the space. As viewers, we are solely reliant on the way the person composes themselves and their surroundings to have any grasp on who they are and the emotions that they are experiencing. There are subtle references to themes throughout the paintings; it could allude to religion, abandonment or western ideals, but inevitably there is always an underlying sombre atmosphere.
