For information on Prescription Meds in school click <here>.
The Health Office carries over the counter medications to help your child stay in school for mild ailments (complaints) and injuries.
Medications will be administered/applied at the discretion of the nurse, health aid, secretary, or other trained staff.
Consent for these medications is completed during online registration.
A written, signed, and dated statement regarding any changes is required from the parent/guardian.
Alternative interventions are preferred and will be suggested before oral medications will be given. Examples: drinking more water, giving the complaint more time to see if it resolves on its own, rest, lunch/snack, talking with the Student Success Coach/Counselor, etc.
If a student frequently comes to the Health Office for over-the-counter medications, the nurse may require a written statement from the student's medical provider and for the parent to supply the medication to continue administration.
