PE Kit

We wanted to give you advance notice that our PE kit is changing. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is no longer making our current kit. New year 7 students will be able to buy the kit from our dedicated online shop.

What do year 7 students need?

All students must have:

· Ryde Academy blue shorts

· Ryde Academy blue V neck t-shirt or the Ryde Academy blue polo shirt (one of/or both)

· The Ryde Academy tracksuit top

· Blue football socks

· Trainers suitable for indoor and outdoor use

· Football boots for football/rugby (not compulsory but recommend if playing football/rugby outside in wet weather. Needed if taking part in competitions and fixtures)

· For dance, students will need to wear clean trainers.

For Winter:

Please be aware that PE lessons will continue to take place outside during the Winter months. So it is important that students are prepared. There are plenty of kit options on the School kit website that will prepare the students for the colder weather.

· Ryde Academy black tracksuit bottoms. Fashion/cotton leggings are not permitted.

· There is also an option to buy a base layer which helps keep the body warm.

· Ryde Academy weatherproof rain jacket.

Personalisation & no-returns policy - Important when ordering

Once items are placed into your online basket, these items can then be personalised with your child’s initials. This will help us in returning kit to students should items end up in lost property and will prevent students from accidently taking kit that is not theirs. Please be aware that as a result of this customisation, items can not be returned for a refund so we encourage you to follow their sizing charts carefully and if in doubt, order a slightly bigger size to ensure your child can wear the PE kit in the next academic year as well.

We have a small sample of PE kit in reception so you can get an idea of the sizing before buying. We have sent a copy of this letter to you via email which includes a size chart.

There are no other changes and the other items of uniform, blazer and tie can still be bought from our normal suppliers, Toymaster and Kids & Co in Ryde. Trousers, skirts and shirts can be purchased anywhere so long they comply with our uniform policy, a copy of which you can find on our website.

Year 7 Transition Booklet

We have published a booklet which we hope you will find useful as you move from Year 6 into Year 7. Copies will also be sent home via your child's primary school.

During the holidays we will be sending home letters with information about the start of term.

Canteen Information

You can find information about the canteen here.

Uniform Queries

If you need any information about our uniform, including a list of suppliers, please click here.

The uniform suppliers have some restrictions in place at the moment.

Toymaster in Union Street

Students are allowed to try uniform on and anything that on that isn't bought is quarantined for 48 hours. The store is asking parents to make appointments via their Facebook (@toymasteriow ) page to allow them to manage the amount of families in the shop at any one time.

Kids & Co

Only one family group at a time is allowed in the store and children are not allowed to try any clothing on. Staff are on hand to help with size choices and you can also order online at

Numerise - Let's get Secondary Ready

Secondary Ready is a free course within Numerise that is designed to prepare Year 6 learners for starting Year 7.
