Homework
Homework plays a crucial role in supporting student learning. It provides an opportunity for independent study and practice outside of the classroom, reinforcing key concepts and skills taught in lessons. The academy's homework policies is outlined below:
In KS3 (Years 7, 8 and 9) pupils will only receive regular homework in the three core subjects.
KS3 pupils will also be offered additional 'creative opportunities' from their other subjects which they can complete for extra house points.
All homework tasks are uploaded and set via the relevant Google classroom.
Students should be given at least 5 days to complete a task.
Students should be rewarded for homework with the use of the house point system.
In KS4 (Years 10 and 11) homework tasks are set weekly per subject - this may be on online platforms such as Sparx and Seneca, portfolio work for vocational subjects or additional revision tasks.
