Successful completion of Grade 10 Science or equivalent.
Earth Science is designed for 11th and 12th grade students looking to fulfill one year of the science requirement for graduation that are not pursuing an IB diploma or have a genuine interest in the content. Topics in the course include: properties of the universe, the origin of the universe, galaxies, stellar evolution, solar systems, the Earth, Moon, and Sun system, geology & mineralogy, plate tectonics, earthquakes & volcanoes, fossils, and geologic time.
Unit assessments (quizzes and tests), laboratory investigations, content activities, research projects, and practice work.
