Successful completion of Grade 10 Science or equivalent.

Description

Earth Science is designed for 11^th and 12^th grade students looking to fulfill one year of the science requirement for graduation that are not pursuing an IB diploma or have a genuine interest in the content. Topics in the course include: properties of the universe, the origin of the universe, galaxies, stellar evolution, solar systems, the Earth, Moon, and Sun system, geology & mineralogy, plate tectonics, earthquakes & volcanoes, fossils, and geologic time.

Assessment

Unit assessments (quizzes and tests), laboratory investigations, content activities, research projects, and practice work.
