Limits & Continuity (Introduction to Calculus)
“The concept of a limit is one of the ideas that differentiates calculus from algebra and trigonometry” (Calculus, Finney). This unit is the first of the units covered in the AP Calculus course at Achievement First. The concepts are introduced first in Pre-Calculus to allow for more time to be spent on AP review towards the end of the course and before the AP Exam, and thus allowing for Limits and Continuity to be included in a “general review” or faster paced unit at the beginning of AP Calculus. This unit outlines and includes the level or rigor that is seen on AP Calculus problems.
Unit Essential Question
"What is the relationship between limits and continuity of a function?"
