To be fully prepared for the Quiz on Monday, here is what you should do:
1. Create your own study guide for lessons 1.01-1.04B ( You are highly encouraged to work on it with a partner or group of people). To do so you will need to look over your notes from Homework, Class Work, Pre-Quiz Questions, Exit Ticket Questions. The study guide should be maximum of 2-3 pages back and forth (basically a brief and condensed version of all of your work so far), containing:
Limit Definition:What is a limit? When does the limit exist?
What is the difference between 1 sided limits and 2 sided limits?
What is the difference between right and left hand limits.
How do we evaluate limits numerically? Provide 1-2 examples.
How do we evaluate limits algebraically? Provide 1-2 example for each method. There are 4 algebraic methods- so make sure to include an example (or 2) of each.
What do limits to infinity represent? How are they evaluated algebraically? Provide at least 3 different examples making sure to include examples of BOB, BOT, and EATS.
What do limits that equal infinity as x approaches a number represent? Provide 2-3 total of 1 and 2 sided limit examples.
2. Complete the attached worksheet "Quiz 1 Review Practice Problems", which contains extra practice problems and answer key (you should provide justifications AND evidence for each algebraic problem). This should be done after going over your materials and creating your study guide.
Note: If done right, this should take you couple of hours. This is what you should be before every assessment. Puting the time in now and learning how to do this right will not only make you be successful in this course, but it will provide you with good study strategies that you can use in all of your college classes.
