Pre-Work:
1) Copy the following notes on you notebook:
Notes:
· Infinite limits occur when functions have ASYMPTOTES. The two types of infinite limits we will see are (Vertical Asymptote) or (Horizontal Asymptote).
· Limits to infinity, just like all limits, can be evaluated using a table, graph, or algebraically. All three techniques should always yield the SAME answer!
Agenda:
HW Discussion
Limits to Infinity and Infinite Limits Practice (see attached)
Discussion
Post-Exit Ticket
Additional Resources:
· Clarifications: The same rules we know about asymptotes from Algebra II & PC still apply. Vertical Asymptotes occur when a value of a denominator is equal to zero and Horizontal Asymptotes are found by using the Numerator & Denominator Test (BOBO, BOTN, EATS DC).
2) Watch & Note Brightstorm’s “Infinite Limits” video 1, video 2, video 3.
3) Watch & Note Show Me “Limits to Infinity” video.
4) Copy and answer the attached pre-quiz.
