Prospects often confuse an AMS (Agency Management System) with a CRM (Customer Relationship Manager). You need to be able to explain the difference clearly and quickly.
The short version:
AMS = manages policies, carriers, documents, compliance (e.g., HawkSoft, QQ, EZLynx, Applied Epic, Vertafore)
CRM = manages relationships, leads, follow-up, communication, and sales pipeline (AgencyZoom)
We build inside the CRM. AgencyZoom syncs with most AMS platforms — it doesn't replace them.
EZLynx integration note:
Native integration syncs the book of business from EZLynx into AgencyZoom
Syncing back from AZ to EZLynx requires a custom Zap build — we have a vendor partner who handles this for $1,500
Farmers agents have specific limitations that come up regularly on calls. Know these before you ever get on a call with one.
Issue
What to Tell Them
Email integration
Farmers email does not integrate with AgencyZoom. Automated emails will come from notifications@agencyzoom.com and may land in spam or promotions. Replies go to their Farmers email.
Solution
They need to purchase their own domain and email address to connect to AgencyZoom properly.
VOIP / text compliance
Their phone provider requires a website in their business name — not "Farmers." Example: Mariah Gates Farmers agent → business name "Gates Insurance LLC" → website must reflect that name for text compliance.
AMS
Apex is the Farmers AMS. It does not natively integrate with AgencyZoom. There is a link from AZ that can push lead info into Apex to start quotes — but it's one-way only.
We connect AgencyZoom to the tools agencies are already using. Here's a visual reference of the integrations we support:

If a prospect asks about a specific integration you're not sure about, defer to the trainers: "That's a great question — our team will make sure everything is connected correctly for your specific setup."
A simple framework to keep every sales conversation on track:

Learn about their agency — size, type, lines of business, current challenges
D
Discover
Understand their pain points, current problems, and what they actually need
G
Gain Commitment
Reiterate how we solve their specific problems and secure next steps
E
Enhance
Ask for referrals — who else do they know who could benefit?
Use EDGE as your mental checklist, not a rigid script. It maps directly to the 30–40 minute call blueprint.
Know who's in the market and how to position against them — without knocking anyone by name.
Competitor Type
What They Offer
How We're Different
Agency MVP
AgencyZoom consulting and setup
Lower depth of build and training support — not a full implementation partner
VA-based setup services (e.g., Lava)
Dedicated VA builds your AZ workflows
~$20K+ with heavy involvement required from the agency; inconsistent quality
Pipeline-only builds (~$5K)
Basic workflow setup, no training
No live training, no adoption support — agencies end up not using it
DIY / AgencyZoom's own support
Chat support + basic training calls
Limited to basics; no custom builds, no implementation guidance
When a prospect says "we're looking at other options" or "we saw someone cheaper":
"Most of what you'll find is either a VA-based setup around $20K that requires a lot from you, or a basic pipeline build around $5K with no training. The training and implementation is where agencies win or lose on this investment — that's what we do differently."
⚠️ Never knock competitors by name on a call. Differentiate on value, not criticism.
Memorize these. Use them in discovery, objection handling, and closing.
