Selective Mutism

Aberdeen City Practice Guidelines for Supporting Children and Young People with Selective Mutism have been refreshed in consultation with colleagues in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Educational Psychology Service and NHS Grampian Clinical Psychology and Speech and Language Therapy.

The document aims to support staff in their work with children and young people at a universal level with Selective Mutism and provides advice in terms of strategies and interventions that can be used within school.

A family guide has also been created to support parents/carers.
