Course Description:
N4/5 Practical Woodwork provides the opportunity for pupils to learn about a wide range of woodworking aspects. These include marking & cutting tools, materials, health & safety procedures, machinery and joining techniques.
Various models are produced throughout the year to ensure coverage of the course requirements and also to allow pupils to demonstrate learning from the theory aspect of the course.
Assessment:
Pupils models are assessed in line with SQA procedures and marking standards. Pupils complete a final practical assessment which contributes 70% of the course marks.
Pupils will be set 2 class tests throughout the year which will be question & answer. This will help to prepare them for the final written paper during the SQA diet of exams. This contributes the remaining 30% of the course marks.
