If you are accepted to study Higher Graphic Communication you can expect to build on your skills gained in National 5 and develop much more complex ones.

Your final grade will come from the Practical Assignment and your final SQA Exam but you will be assessed throughout the year as well.
You should expect to have two Practical Assignments and two Theory Assessments throughout the year, these usually are scheduled towards the end of each term in October and December.
You will also sit a Preliminary Exam in January which will be much more like your final exam in May.
The Practical Assignment is worth 36% of your overall grade and takes place over 8 hours during your normal class time in February and March.
The Exam accounts for the further 64% of your grade and takes place in May during the SQA exam diet and will last for 2 hours.
In order to be eligible to sit Higher Graphic Communication you will need to receive either an A or B (1 - 4) at National 5.
