Course Description:
Higher Engineering Science further develops knowledge and understanding of a wide range of engineering disciplines and aspects of technology from National 5 level. There are also various new topics particularly within Electronics & Structures.
This is an ideal course to study if you are interested in following a career into engineering. Some of the key topic areas include:
Analogue & Digital Electronics, Structures & Materials, Energy, Pneumatics & Programmable Control.
For entry to this course you will need to have achieved a Grade A or B at National 5 level. Alternatively you will have achieved A grades in National 5 Maths & Physics.
Assessment:
Class tests are completed at the end of each topic and a prelim exam is conducted just after the Christmas break.
You will complete an SQA assignment in February and a final written exam during the SQA exam diet.
The marks gained from these SQA assessments determine your final grade.
