みなさん、サバティカル休暇というのをご存知ですか？

「サバティカル休暇」とは、長期間勤務者に対して付与される、使途に制限のない長期休暇のことで、企業の「サバティカル休暇制度」とは、一定の条件で、少なくとも1カ月以上の長期休暇を取得できる制度のことを指します。

この制度が生まれた背景には、1990年代のヨーロッパ企業において優秀な人材が次々と退職してしまっていたことがあります。当時のヨーロッパでは、仕事だけでなく家族や自分自身の生活を重要視する「ワークライフバランス」の価値観が登場し、企業は人材の離反を防ぐための対策としてサバティカル休暇制度を導入しはじめたのです。

日本においても「働き方改革」の機運の高まりによってサバティカル休暇が注目されるようになりました。長時間労働による過労死などの問題が大きく報じられ、過労を防ぎ労働者の健康を守るという観点からも、サバティカル休暇は重要な施策となりえます。

自分たちはこれからサバティカル期間に入ります。これまで経験できていなかった様々なものに触れ、インプットの期間をとり、このような機会にしかできないこと可能な限りやり尽くしたいと思います。元号が変わって新しい時代が始まってからも、今まで何かしらの縁あってつながってきた皆様と引き続き携わっていきたいと思っています。

Sabbatical vacation is a long-term vacation (more than one month) granted to full-time workers.

Early retirements of excellent businesspersons at European companies in the 1990s are the background of this system.

In those days in Europe, the concept of "work-life balance" appeared, and companies started to establish sabbatical vacation in order to prevent estrangements of human resources.

Sabbatical vacation is also focused in Japan by the mood of work style reform.

Problems caused by long-time working (such as overwork death) are widely reported.

Sabbatical vacation is an important policy by the viewpoint of preventing overwork and protect the health of businesspersons.

We are going to take a sabbatical. We will try various things that we never experienced before, take an input term, and do everything that we can only do in this opportunity as much as possible. We are looking forward to staying connected with everyone linked to us by some kind of fate.
