年頭のあいさつ/Happy New Year（January, 2019）
あけましておめでとうございます、今回は20世紀を代表する数学者であり様々な業績[Note]を残しているGelfandの言葉を紹介します。
Gelfandは来日した際の講演で「21世紀は数学の力だけでは太刀打ちできない問題が立ちはだかる時代になる。
数学以外の知識も必要になる。」
と述べ、専門分野以外の知識を持つことの大切さを説いています。
2019年はGelfand没後10周年にあたる年ですが、
今こそこの言葉を肝に銘じなければいけないでしょう。
これからも様々な知識を身に着ける場としてLearning Cafe をやっていきます。

Let me tell you about Gelfand's (Russian famous mathematician with various achievements[Note]) famous word.
When he visited Japan, he said "The 21st century will be an era that we will engage in problems that cannot be solved by the power of mathematics, non-mathematical knowledge will also be important", and claimed the importance of having knowledge outside of your specialized field. 2019 is the 10th anniversary of his death, now is the time to keep his message in mind.
We will continue our learning cafe to obtain various cognitions.
