Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy is a therapy method for borderline personality disorder, and it was created by Linehan in 1987. It is made by 3 parts:
1. Control emotions by mindfulness.
2. Eliminate factors that interrupt emotion control.
3. Maintain relationships by using interpersonal effective skills.
Interpersonal effective skills has 3 goals:
Goal 1. Obtain what you want.
Goal 2. Obtain/Maintain relationships.
Goal 3. Maintain self-respect
For goal 1, use DEARMAN:

Reinforce
Mindful
Appear confident
Negotiate
For goal 2, use GIVE:
Gentle
Interested
Validate
Easy manner
For goal 3, use FAST:
