Pre-Season Rankings
Below are the pre-season State, 4A and 4A Region 1 rankings.
These are based on the best 2021 times of "returning" runners only. This does NOT include incoming Freshmen, transfers, runners who don't return, and of course is only historical. It doesn't reflect who trained hard in the summer and who didn't.

The first row of times and rankings is select all classifications, but mostly 4A, teams.
The second row is select 4A schools including those in our region. (4th ranked Palmer and 5th ranked Cheyenne, for example, are left out, although you can see them in the 4A Girls tab. Curiously, when the non-4A teams are taken out, Battle Mountain moves ahead of Durango in 4A, although I left them in their all-classifications columns.) We are ranked 13th in 4A State!
The 3rd row of rankings is our 4A Region 1. I crossed out Golden and Green Mountain, because they were moved out of our region. That means we go from the 5th ranked team to the 3rd ranked team. As a reminder, the top 4 teams in each region qualify for the State Championship.

The second row is select 4A schools including those in our region. As you can see, we have a pre-season rank of 5th in the State!
The 3rd row of rankings is our 4A Region 1. We are ranked 3rd, although Eagle Valley is just 5 points behind us. As a reminder, the top 4 teams in each region qualify for the State Championship. Although Golden and Green Mountain were moved out of our region, there was no need to remove them from the Regional rankings because they are towards the bottom.
