Royal Gorge - Both teams were 4th! That is quite something considering many of our normal top 7 did not race. It was a great performance on a hard course. It was a much steeper climb (and descent!!) than I expected. Despite that, we had several runners set PRs! That’s pretty incredible and shows many of you have improved your speed and fitness considerably in the less than 2 weeks since Liberty Bell.
That's 4th for the boys when we add Johnny into the team scores. This is a lesson for discussing at practice. My error on not mentioning it earlier. Don't take your time while crossing the finish line mats. It will block the signal. See the photo. For that matter, don't push lap buttons at the start of the race either. It can delay you by milliseconds and cause a worse starting position.
New Personal Bests:
Lucia - 23 seconds
Marin - 1 second
Maeve - 7 seconds
Malachi - 2 second season best
Zander - 34 seconds
Donovan - 2 second season best
Arlie - 2:14!! (That's two minutes, 14 seconds!)
