The Speaker:

Claudio Ciacci received his B.S. (1983) and M.S. degrees (1985) in electrical engineering from the City College of New York (New York). He has held engineering positions at Philips Electronics Research, Consumer Electronics, and Semiconductors divisions (all in Briarcliff Manor, NY). He was a research engineer (hardware design) working with a team on the development of advanced television systems equipment. The team also represented Phillips as a contributing member to the Grand Alliance, a group of manufacturers that implemented the digital HDTV standard for the US. He holds six patents in the field of digital television displays, and related digital signal processing. He is currently a Senior Project Leader at Consumers Union involved with the testing of display technologies at Yonkers, NY, where he has been employed since 2004. In his spare time Claudio enjoys home entertainment audio/video equipment, digital photography, as well as tackling home improvement projects.
