Eric is currently in Nepal working on a few projects, here is what he has been up to...

"Update on what I've been doing here.

So since arriving in KTM for just over 2 wks I've been lining up teaching opportunities. This week I'm doing 4 lectures at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), 2 more lectures on mechanical ventilation at the International Friendship Children's Hospital (IFCH) and a lecture @ Kathmandu Medical College (KMC). In addition to customizing presentations and working with the cultural challenges of a primarily didactic teaching style. I am doing RT rounds @ the IFCH and on-call for any respiratory issues at various hospitals in the Kathmandu area. KMC has just received one of the donated CPAP units from a Canadian hospital. There will be a demo this Tuesday and inservicing as well. They have successfully used the bubble CPAP setup on 3 patients since it's introduction last year. But have been hesistant to use due to ROP from not being able to blend gases. With the Infant Flow, they can now blend gases. All the hospitals are quite happy with RTWB's willingness to empower physicians."
