Upcoming project

"This coming July, I will be heading to Kathmandu, Nepal, along with some of my classmates to complete an observership at one of the hospitals. There, we hope to explore interprofessionalism within the public health-care system, as well as serve those with limited access to critical care and chronic disease management programs. We hope that this experience will inspire our careers as future, globally conscious, respiratory therapists.

Our journey thus far...

On Thursday, January 5th 2012, we hosted a fundraising event at the London Taphouse in Toronto to support our volunteer venture. There were over 150 guests

in attendance and the event raised $1650.

Over the past four months, we have continued to diligently raise awareness and funds for our initiative. Working together we have hosted multiple bake sales, guitar hero competitions and sold tickets for a 50/50 raffle.

Through the raffle alone, we were able to raise $2310! The winning name was drawn today with the assistance of a first year Michener Institute respiratory therapy student.  Congratulations to Phylicia W., who is the winner and recipient of half the pot, an impressive $1155!

We would like to thank everyone that has supported us thus far, whether it be purchasing a raffle ticket, baking cupcakes, rocking out or having a blast. We cannot emphasize how sincerely appreciative we are.

Proceeds from fundraising will go towards volunteer projects such as hospital donations, equipment, as well as health-care and education workshops for local communities."
