"An update on what I've actually been doing.

I've been basing all my operations out of the International Friendship Children's Hospital (www.ifch.com.np), where the director is an inspiring worker dedicated to increasing the level of child healthcare in Nepal.

Some of the work done so far:

6 session workshop of mechanical venitlation @ IFCH ~15 medical officers and consultant pediatricians

4 session workshop on mechnical ventilation @ TUTH 30+ residents, medical officers, pediatricians, consultants and faculty

1 session workshop of CPAP in the neonate @ KMC 15+ residents, medical officers and faculty

138 students @ Snowlands school screened by a team of volunteers from IFCH for further eye consultation.

Preparations for rural medical health camp x2. Getting a UK med student to oversee.

Doing rounds on intubated pts at IFCH. However, there is still much improvement to be made on the medical management of these pts.

Other plans:

TEAM hospital in Dadeldhura in the far west Thursday for about 2wks, doing teaching on mechanical ventilation and bubble CPAP

Upon return to the Valley:

Mechanical Ventilation to KMC (1session)

Non-invasive ventilation to CIWEC (1session)

CPAP to TUTH (unconfirmed)

Mechanical Ventilation to Bir Hospital (unconfrimed)

International Friendship Children's Hospital (IFCH)

Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH)

Kathmandu Medical College (KMC)

that's about it for a quick and dirty report."
