RTWB pitched the idea of a bubble NIPPV system that was powered by scavenged bubble energy from existing bubble CPAP setups to a team of engineering undergraduate students at the Western Michigan University 2 years ago. They have subsequently joined RTWB as a HEP and continue to obtain clinical advisory on this project. What Stephen and his team at WMU have done in the last 2 years has been phenomenal and a breakthrough in neonatal care for our generation - especially in resource limited settings.
