The Need
Educational gaps:
• mechanical ventilation
• CPAP/BIPAP therapy
• 3month on site respiratory therapy coverage + educator requested
Proposed solution:
• Fall 2013 season, an off-site respiratory therapist shall be made available for phone consultation and in-person consultation based on availability.
• 3month on-site respiratory therapist trial (Mar – May 2014)
◦ Education: The focus of this post is respiratory education
▪ At least 2 weekly inservicing sessions for local staff on topics of interest
◦ Respiratory therapy coverage
▪ For entire hospital 24/7
◦ Living arrangements
▪ Within 30min of hospital
▪ mobile phone for call duty
