Freshmen Transition Meetings: Receive guidance and coaching as learners transition into the world of high school
Career Conversations: Learners will engage in conversations with peers and their Future Ready Advisor about future planning and identifying careers of interest
My Strengths & Accomplishment Profile: Learners will self-assess their own strengths and interests and consider how this are leveraged as employability skills
Career Exploration: Introduction to a variety of traditional and non-traditional careers through presentations from community speakers and online career exploration platforms
Career Comparisons: Learners will identify careers of interest and investigate how those careers align with each other, with their interests, and with their strengths
Goal-Setting: Learners will develop their own authentic future-ready academic goal. They will self-monitor their progress on this goal throughout the year
Personal Wellness Tracker: Through physical fitness courses, learners will set personal wellness goals and monitor their progress.
Board of Directors: Learners will identify who influences them, and examine whether these are productive or counter-productive influencers
Self Care: Learners will explore ways to manage their self-care, recognize stress, and draw from a toolbox of strategies to manage their mental wellness
Digital Citizenship: Learners will consider ways to be a positive digital citizen and use social media responsibly
Study Skills & Habits: Learners will examine best-practices in developing strong study skills and habits
My Four-Year Plan: Development of a four-year academic plan that supports future academic and career goals, and assessment of current standing with high school graduation requirements
Business Tours: Tour a variety of local businesses to learn more about Waukesha County career opportunities
Pre-ACT Testing: Participation in the ACT Suite of assessments
Course Selection: Selecting elective opportunities from a wide array of elective courses for their sophomore year, expanding on areas of interest and trying new experiences. Learners will also have the opportunity to "test-drive" courses in advance
ACP Journey Self-Reflection: Learners will assess their progression in becoming Future Ready through the development of a website that highlights their growth in the Graduate Profile Competencies
Future Ready/ACP Conferences: The year will culminate with a personalized conference between learner, parent, and ACP advisor. Learners will share their experiences, what they have learned about themselves, and their future-ready plan at this meeting, using their website as the foundation for the conference.
