Career Clusters: Learners explore the sixteen career clusters and identify their top 2-3 clusters of interest
Career Exploration: Introduction to a variety of traditional and non-traditional careers through presentations from community speakers
Goal-Setting: Learners will develop their own authentic future-ready academic goal. They will self-monitor their progress on this goal throughout the year
Confirming My Course: Review and modify (if needed) four-year academic plan that supports future academic and career goals, and assessment of current standing with high school graduation requirements
Personal Wellness Plan: Through physical fitness courses, learners will set personal wellness goals and monitor their progress
Financial Planning: Continue honing personal financial literacy skills through Economics or Personal Financial Management courses
Resume Introduction: Learners will identify evaluate resumes to identify the candidates that they would most likely hire
Resume Writing: Learners will develop their own personal resume
Cover Letters & Achievement Profiles: Learners will explore the value of cover letters and practice creating one. They will also create a profile of their accomplishments and successes to date.
Interviewing Skills: Learners will practice interviewing skills
My Stress Response Toolbox: Learners will identify a variety of tools and resources available to them when they experience stress or anxiety
Introduction to MentorSHIP: Learners will be introduced to a leadership opportunity for their senior year in which they may apply to be mentors for incoming freshmen
ACT/SAT/ASVAB: Participation in ACT prep, PSAT. In addition, students will participate in ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) and/or ACT testing in spring
Future-Ready Timeline Prep: Learners will be introduced to the timelines and deadlines for post-secondary decisions. Additionally, learners will engage in credit checks and transcript reviews to ensure that they are on track for their anticipated post-secondary pathway.
Course Selection: Selecting elective opportunities from a wide array of elective courses for their senior year, expanding on areas of interest and trying new experiences. Learners will also have the opportunity to "test-drive" courses in advance
ACP Journey Self-Reflection: Learners will assess their progression in becoming Future Ready through the ongoing updates to their website that highlights their growth in the Graduate Profile Competencies
Future Ready/ACP Conference: During their junior year, all learners will have a personalized meeting with their parents and their school counselor to review their Future Ready/ACP journey, their post-secondary planning, and their focus for the remainder of high school in order to ensure that they are future-ready
