WI Department of Public Instruction
In recognition of the need to change the way we support students as we prepare them for various post-secondary pathways, researchers, schools, and the government were all coming to the same conclusion - and the Academic & Career Planning Initiative of Wisconsin was born. In 2013, a state statute (through Act 20) was signed into effect - mandating that public schools in Wisconsin begin implementing ACPs (Academic & Career Plans) for all students in grades 6 - 12 by 2017-2018. Work began at the state and local levels to create a strong foundation of support for the anticipated launch.
