Masks in School

Dear parents/guardians

I know most of you will have seen the news last night that boys from 3rd class to 6th must start wearing masks in school. This information was sent to the school very late last night and has not given schools a chance to make a plan for this new guideline.

Over the coming days staff and the Board of management will draw up a plan for mask wearing in school. We are waiting on further advice from the Dep of Education and the Irish Principals network.

We will be teaching the boys the correct way to wear masks and the importance of having a clean mask.

I don’t want any parent worrying that their child will be refused entry to school over the coming days because they don’t have a mask. NO child will be refused entry if they don’t have a mask.

If you want your child to wear a mask over the coming days please send in a clean mask with them today and speak to them about the importance of wearing a mask correctly and not to be messing with masks or getting distracted from their work because of it.

As always we appreciate your support in this matter in the school during this very difficult time. I will be in touch later today with more information when we get it from the government.

Kind regards

Mr McHugh
