The OCS end of year assembly took place on Wednesday the 22nd of June 2016 at 6pm.
As usual it was a fun filled evening, celebrating the many achievements of our pupils throughout the year.
The evening kicked off with our opening note and an introductory song by the 2nd and 3rd classes. They wowed us with both their singing and tin whistle playing and got us geared up for the big match playing their rendition of Olé Olé mashed up with Molly Malone.
Following this the official award ceremony began.
Awards on the night included Sports, Music, Art, Outstanding contribution to school life for each class, Attendance and Time Keeping.
Many boys went home laden down with trophies and certificates.
Next up to sing were 4th and 5th class with another patriotic number for the match 'On the One Road'
After this we had our medal presentation. Every single boy in OCS was awarded with a medal based on the amount of stamps they received throughout the year:
630 - Bronze medal
750 - Silver medal
950 + Gold Medal
Well done boys!
Two lucky boys went home with 250 euro vouchers for bikes as they were picked out of a draw for not missing any days at school and not choosing any stages throughout the year - a massive achievement!
Our outgoing 6th class sang 'The Graduation Song' and showered the hall with confetti before the whole school sang 'Amhrán na bhFiann' to conclude our ceremony and allow eveone to get home on time to watch Ireland qualify for the next round of the Euros - COYBIG!
Well done to all involved!
