Here's how to download free digital books from Maine's State Library the Cloud Library using your Prince Memorial or Portland Library Card.

Don't have a library card? Contact Prince Memorial Library by calling 207-829-2215 or email library@cumberlandmaine.com. Or, even though you don't live in Portland, you can contact Portland Public Library at 207-871-1700 extension 730 to get a card number that you can use to check out digital books.

You can do this on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Once you've found your library card number, start HERE at the Cloud Library.

Choose Cumberland: Prince Memorial Library or Portland Public Library from the pull down menu, depending on which card you are using.

Download the Cloud Library App so that you can listen to or read the books you borrow on your favorite mobile device.

From the next page (below) you can browse for books. Tip: Change the Filters setting to "Available Now" and it will only show you books that are currently not checked out. You can place books on hold, though, so if you see something you like and it's checked out, go ahead and choose that option.

This is also where you'll find the button to download the Cloud Library App which you will need to check books in and out and to read them or listen to them.

Still have questions? Having any trouble at all with the Cloud Library app or the Maine Infonet site? Email your librarian for help! hperkinson@msad51.org.
