Good source for information about Ancient Egypt and the history of major religions.

British Museum

Search the collections of the British Museum of Art. You can specify "images" only if you need primary source images. Be sure to use the Advanced Search options after your initial search to narrow it down.

This resource from the Metropolitan Museum of Art allows you to search for images and information about artifacts in the museum's collection by time period but also by theme/topic.

History World

A British site about World History that includes Timelines. Click on the "Histories" tab and then choose your country/civilization from the alphabetical list.

Best for researching specific topics in Math, Science and Philosophy, such as theories, ideas, or the names of famous people from your country/civilization.

Perseus Digital Library

Two great resources here for Ancient Greece and Rome: "Greek & Roman Materials" has primary sources, "Art & Archaeology Artifact Browser" which lists objects, buildings, and artwork which can be searched by a variety of features.
