Everything that happens in Loch Haven is the result of residents who volunteer their time and talent to make Loch Haven a great place to call home. Loch Haven residents maintain community property, organize events, serve on the board of directors, and much more!
Loch Haven started in 1953 with a few houses reached by dirt roads and surrounded by forest. Many residents have been here for decades and their grown children often return to buy a home and raise their family.
New residents continue the Loch Haven tradition of volunteerism and bring fresh ideas and skills. All residents are encouraged to get involved in our great community!

Loch Haven residents and their guests enjoy a sandy beach with chairs and picnic tables, a pier with boat slips, an overlook on the river, a ball field for events, a recreation area with a tennis court, basketball court, and a playground with picnic tables. Residents can relax on the beach, admire the water views, and participate in community events--all of which are only made possible by residents who volunteer their time and talents.
The Loch Haven Civic Association (LHCA) organizes a wide range of activities, manages the community budget, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and oversees efforts to maintain and improve community property. The LHCA is governed by a 15-member, volunteer, Board of Directors. The Association publishes a quarterly newsletter and maintains this website.
Loch Haven is a Special Community Benefits District (SCBD) as approved by a vote of property owners in 2020. In past years, residents paid voluntary dues to belong to the Loch Haven Civic Association. Anne Arundel County now assesses a small tax annually on the tax bill of all Loch Haven properties. These funds are then returned to Loch Haven to be used for the maintenance of community property and for operating expenses. Any change to the tax amount is approved by a vote of property owners.
Loch Haven is a community that has grown organically, house by house, since 1953. We do not have an HOA fee or a property manager. We are a community built by the active participation of our residents.
