Code of Ethics (taken from the MN Coaches Association)
As a professional educator, I will:
Strive to develop in each athlete the qualities of leadership, initiative and good judgment.
Respect the integrity and personality of each individual student.
Encourage the highest standards of conduct and scholastic achievement.
Seek to inculcate good health habits including the establishment of sound training rules.
Fulfill responsibilities to provide health services and an environment free of safety hazards.
Exemplify the highest moral character, behavior and leadership.
Provide ethical relationships among coaches/advisors.
Encourage a respect for all students and their values.
Abide by the rules of the game in letter and spirit.
Respect the integrity and judgment of officials.
Display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.
Demonstrate a mastery of and continuing interest in coaching/advising principles and techniques through professional improvement.
The code of ethics of this association shall be adhered to by each and every member of the MSHSCA. Any action by members of the MSHSCA contrary to the principles therein established shall be subject to review by the Executive Committee according to policies established by the MSHSCA Delegate assembly.
