1. The cost of a taxi trip, (C), is a flat rate of $3 plus $2.50 per kilometre (k). 

a) Write an equation that relates c and k

b) Make a table that shows the cost of 1 km to a 5 km trip.  

c) Graph the table of values on graph paper.

d) Describe the graph in relation to the variables

e) Find the cost of 1.5 km assuming the taxi will charge for partial kilometres.


2a. Make a table of values for the relation y= -4x +1  using values of x from -4 to +4 

b) Graph the ordered pairs


3. A plumber’s earnings, E, is based on a flat fee of $35 plus a $25 per hour charge, h, the equation E = 35 + 25h can be used to determine the total amount of money earned for a job.

a) Make a table show the amount of earnings,  for the plumber for 1- 5 hours of work.

b) Graph the table of values on graph paper

c) )Describe the graph in relation to the variables

d) Find the amount of hours worked if the plumber earns $285.
