1. Sara’s math scores on her math assignments were:55, 89, 79, 78, 85, 83, 82, 87, 78, 80

1. Find the median, mode, mean

2. Identify the outlier and give a reasonable explanation for this mark. 

3. Remove the outlier then recalculate the median, mode, mean

4. Should Sara remove the outlier when calculating her mean? Explain why or why not.

2. A chocolate manufacturer says that each box of trail mix contains an average of 50 g of chocolate. A random check is made on 20 boxes the results are as follows

1. Calculate the mode, mean, median and range for the amount of chocolate in the box of trail mix.

2. What measure of central tendency (median, mode, mean) is most important to the manufacturer and why? 

3. Is the manufacturer's claim acceptable? Why or why not?
