Related Service Intervention Specialists

We are the Itinerant Intervention Specialists for students with Visual Impairment and/or Hearing Impairment, the Orientation Mobility Instructor and the VI Materials Coordinator. We provide consultative assistance and direct/indirect support to the classroom teachers and students.

Itinerant Intervention Specialists help students with vision and/or hearing disabilities succeed in the regular education setting. The Orientation Mobility Instructor helps students with visual impairments travel safely and efficiently throughout their environments. The VI Materials Coordinator maintains contact with teachers and Supplemental Services Teachers to determine books, materials, equipment needed and what medium: Braille, large print, cassette tape or CD.
