PROGRESS MONITORING AND REPORTING

According to the Ohio Administrative Code, section § 3301-51-07. (H)(1)(d), IEPs must include

a description of:

(i) How the child's progress toward meeting the annual goals described in paragraph (H)(1)(c)* of this rule will be measured; and

(ii) When periodic reports on the progress the child is making toward meeting the annual goals (such as through the use of quarterly or other periodic reports, concurrent with the issuance of report cards) will be provided.

*(H)(1)(c) A statement of measurable annual goals, including academic and functional goals and benchmarks or short-term objectives designed to:

(i) Meet the child’s needs that result from the child’s disability to enable the child to be involved in and make progress in the general education curriculum; and

(ii) Meet each of the child’s other educational needs that result from the child’s disability

The school district will inform the child’s parents of their child’s progress toward the annual goals, which includes the extent to which that progress is sufficient to enable the child to achieve the goals by the end of the year, at least as often as parents of non-disabled children are informed.

CPS uses EdPlan to monitor and report progress toward meeting annual IEP goals. Progress is reported eight times per year, at the midterm and end of each academic quarter. Progress reports are updated at this time and sent home to parents/guardians along with the student’s report card.
