Auditions and Rehearsal Information

Auditions Sept 6-7, 2023

The Show

On Nov 10-11, 2023, Smoky Hill HS Theater will be presenting Radium Girls, a modern play written by D.W. Gregory.  Radium Girls, is a deeply powerful and engrossing play that explores American society and norms in the early 1900s.

Auditions: Be prepared with a one to two minute monologue of your choice (preferably modern, and should be memorized).  For those who have not auditioned before, there will be options for cold readings.

Call Backs: Be prepared for Call Backs on Friday, Sept 8, after school.  Cast lists will be posted by Monday, Sept. 11 on the drama Call Board and on the SHHSdrama.com website.

Check-In: There will be a sign up list for your 5-minute audition slot.  Complete the Audition Info Form online, and check-in near the Green Room 10 minutes prior to your audition slot after school on your audition day. (The Green Room is the performing arts hallway entrance to the auditorium.)  Auditions slots will run until 6:00 pm.  Bring a photo (or we can photocopy your student ID or take a picture of you) and a résumé of performance experience if you have one!

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held Monday-Friday 3:30-6:00 PM beginning Sept 12 through Friday Nov 10, all-day Saturday November 4 and evenings from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. the entire week of the show, Nov. 6-11.  It is imperative that you have no rehearsal conflicts and can commit to 99% of rehearsal times.  There won’t be rehearsals during Fall Break.

Rehearsal Schedule

September 12 - November 10, Monday - Friday

after school until 6:00 pm

Saturday, November 4 – all day

November 6-11 – Evenings until 9:30 pm

Tech Crew and Stage Help: A tech crew is needed for lighting, sound, props, scenery and other techie stuff.  There will be a sign-up list posted September 11 and application forms online for those interested. 

Tech crew will have the same schedule as the rehearsal schedule.
