Results: State Qualifier (6/02/08)

The boys and girls team headed to the State Qualifier meet, held over two days at both Arlington HS and Suffern MS. The meet was marked by many PB’s and standout performances.
On the boys’ side, Thursday’s events were highlighted by Kevin D.’s 2:00.4 in the 800, grabbing a 6th place from the slower section. Kevin also ran 15.5 in the 110HH. Jelani T. continued his improvement over the course of the season with an 11.2, his seasonal PB. 3 other runners broke 12 seconds in the 100, Bo W and Tareek T ran 11.7, while Miguel L., coming back from surgery to his hand, ran 11.9. Pole vault action included a personal best by Sam K., improving 1′ to jump 10′, and just missing at 11′.
On the girls’ side, 3 girls broke 2:30 in the same race as Tina M., Lauren K., and Caroline B., ran 2:27, 2:28, 2:29 respectively. Sam S. continued her comeback from a quad injury by winning her heat and running 2:37. Tina and Caroline returned on day 2 to run PB’s of 62.0 and 64.5 in the 400. Jamie E. continued her stellar season finishing 4th in the long jump and 6th in the 400IH. In the pentathlon, Jen K. continued her introduction to the event, finishing 6th at the State Qualifiers. Emma L. finished 3rd in the racewalk, capping an exciting season for North girls in the racewalk.
With one more meet, Fast Times Relays, the team will wrap up an exciting and fufilling season.
