Printer, Copy, and Scan

Printing

The house printer costs 5 cents per page. Please deposit money in the jar near the printer

To add this printer, look to add a network printer: choose the one called MFC-L2740DW. Either use generic drivers or download the appropriate drivers for the printer. In case you want to know, the IP address for the scanner and printer is 192.168.1.75.

For more detailed instructions (which might be out of date), see below.

Macintosh Setup Instructions (tested on OS X 11.2.1, 3/2021)

1. Click on the apple->system preferences->print&fax

2. Click “set up printers”

3. Click +

4. Choose AirPrint

5. Printer address = 192.168.1.75

6. Click Add

Windows Setup Instructions (tested on Windows XP, before 3/2021)

1. Click Start -> Printers and Faxes

2. Click Add Printer, and then click next

3. Choose Network printer, click next

4. Choose Connect a printer on the internet...

5. For Address, enter: 192.168.1.75 click next

6. Click next, click finish

Linux / Ubuntu (tested before 3/2021)

1. Click System -> Administration -> Printing

2. Click New Printer, Click Network Printer, Click LPD/LPR Host or printer

3. Put 192.168.1.75 in as the host and hit "Probe" (Dirty).

4. Click Forward

5. Follow the instructions to install the drivers.

Copying

To Copy use the buttons on the printer.

Scanning (updated 3/2021)

To Scan, use the office computer:

1. search for "Windows Fax and Scan" on the office computer.

2. Click on "New Scan"

3. Select Brother "MFC-L2740D W LAN"
