This course focuses on the practice of Electrical Engineering as a profession. As the designated Communication in the Discipline course, the syllabus includes a significant emphasis on written and oral communication within electrical engineering. Additional topics in this course include engineering project management and economics; design of experiments, systems, processes, and devices; test, reliability, lifetime, and failure analysis; manufacturing; ethics; and sustainability. Students in this course also engage a module that provides career advising, resume development, and discussions about professionalism in engineering. Content in this course addresses outcomes 2-7. Outcomes 3, 4, and 5 are formally assessed in this course on a two-year cycle. Additional information, including outcome assessment related to this course, is included below.
