In this second circuits course, students learn about single-phase and three-phase AC circuits, mutual inductance, and transformers. In addition, Laplace transforms and circuit applications, transfer functions, Bode plots, frequency response, and resonant circuits are also covered along with Fourier series, filter circuit design, and two-port networks. The lecture is supported by a laboratory component. In the lab, exercises are designed to support key concepts from the lecture and provide students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience.
This lecture and lab address outcomes 1-4, and 5-6. Outcomes 1- 4 are formally assessed in this course on a two-year cycle. Additional information, including outcome assessment related to the lecture and lab, is included below.
