12:45-1:30 Overcoming resistance
Who is really resistant? Use diffusion of innovation curve/adopter categories to identify true resistors (slides 16-22)
Change Puzzle: Identify the cause of resistance
Peter Senge's Change Puzzle illustrates how six critical elements combine to produce effective change in an organization. However, if one element is missing, we end up with a very different outcome.
Choose one "laggard" that you think you have a chance of overcoming. Use the outcomes (far right column of Change Puzzle) to identify what is happening. The greyed out box is what is missing = cause of resistance. What can you do about it?
Choose one "late adopter" and repeat.
